Cross-country skiing in Tyrol

It is one of the healthiest sports at all: cross-country skiing is particularly gentle on the joints and at the same time the perfect whole body training, as almost all muscle groups are claimed. If the conditions are as perfect as in Tyrol, nothing is in the way of a fantastic cross-country holiday.


Cross-country skiing in the Fügen / Kaltenbach


Elevation track Kaltenbach Hochzillertal
The starting point of the circular course is at the 6-seater chairlift "Neuhütten" in the ski resort Hochzillertal at approximately 1,700 m above sea level. If there is enough snow, the cross-country ski trail will be crossed.
The purchase of a ticket "downhill and downhill" at the cash desk of the ski center Hochzillertal is necessary.

Lackenalm cross-country ski track
The last parking lot is at the so-called "The Butt". From there a cleared road (approx. 700 m) leads to the Schönach Valley. Then the valley spreads out and the trail leads past the Stinkmoosalm. In the middle of and around the Stinkmoosalm, the Stinkmoosloipe leads slightly hilly. However, if you cross the Schüttdamm to the right, a 2 km-long, fantastic trail leads to the right bank of the Schönachbach to the Lackenalm ski station.

Schönachtal cross-country ski track
Cross the Gerlosbach bridge across from the Hotel Oberwirt and turn left. There the track starts in the direction of Schönachtal, which leads slightly upwards about 2 km to the so-called "The butt". From here, a cleared winter hiking trail leads up to the valley valley of the Schönach valley. On the left over the wooden bridge the trail leads back to Gerlos. Shortly before the federal road, turn left and then get back to the starting point.

Innertal - cross-country ski track
At the parking lot at the Hotel Oberwirt, you enter directly into the cross-country ski run and walk past the sports ground in the direction of Innertal. At the foot of the Isskogelbahn an underpass leads under the Gerlosstraße (Attention: height 180 cm!). Along the Gerlosbach (700 m no skating track), the trail leads past the Krafthaus into Funsingau. On the way back you can turn left at Innertalerhof over the Holzbrücke and change to the Schönachtal cross-country ski trail.

Elevation track Lackenalm - Issalm
The trail leads from the Lackenalm on a hiking trail (max. 4 m width) about 2 km slightly ascending to the idyllic Issalm, where it ends in an impressive valley close to the Isswände. As these cross-country skiers and cross-country skiers share the same route and are also returning home, special caution and consideration is requested!
In case of an avalanches danger, the cross-country ski trail must be blocked, a possible barrier must be followed.

Junsloipe - cross-country ski track
If you drive from Tux-Lanersbach to Juns, there are 2-3 parking spaces at the beginning of Juns. From there, the Junsloipe begins. They run a 2.2 km round and then return to the starting point. Suitable for classic cross-country skiing and the skating lovers.

Around Tyrol's largest lake stretches a cross-country ski track of a considerable 200 kilometers in length. It is one of the most important cross-country ski areas in Tyrol. The different topographical conditions in the region - from gently rolling on the shores of the Achensee to sporty and challenging in the Karwendel valleys - make long-distance tours possible at all levels of difficulty. An intelligent guidance system and good signposting facilitate orientation. Some cross-country ski trails are artificially snowed if the winter break. And sledding is also possible near the lake. In Pertisau, Maurach and Achenkirch, eight cross-country ski runs are accessible without barriers. The use of all cross-country ski runs, apart from Pertisau, is free of charge.

At the Achensee, cross-country skiers are looking forward to their own peteloipe, where the four-legged animals can accompany their mistresses und gentlemen undisturbed. The circular course, slightly more than a kilometer long, leads from the Tanzcafé Laterndl over the meadows and back again.

This trail starts at first slightly ascending through the Falzthurntal up to the Falzturnalm and in consequence with slight ascents up to the Gramaialm and back to the starting point.

Cross-country ski track Pletzach - Gernalm
This trail leads first through the forest and then slightly ascending to the Pletzachalm. From there the trail crosses the stream to the Gern Alm and back again.
